About Us
The Ribault High School Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program has been designed to assist our cadets realize their fullest potential in several ways.  First, this is not a “normal” elective.  This is not just another class.  We take our jobs very seriously.  We don’t do anything halfway.  We take no nonsense from anyone.  We demand good behavior and sticking to a very clear set of rules.

Second, we are not recruiters, although we will present the armed forces to our cadets and their parents as an excellent opportunity.  Students who participate in MCJROTC are NOT required to go into the military service.
However, participation guarantees advanced rank if a cadet does go into the military and advanced standing in college NROTC.

That said, we ARE a team of professionals with high standards and goals for your children.  We try to maintain an environment of discipline tempered with understanding and compassion.  We believe in our hearts in what we do and that we offer something that every one of these students needs.  Specifically, we teach discipline and taking responsibility for one's actions.  We teach honesty and respect for others, including family members and authority figures.  We try to shine the light on right and wrong, good and bad.  We help our cadets to develop a sense of purpose and direction in their lives. We stay involved in the lives of the cadets, even when they are not in our classroom.  We believe that what we teach applies in all parts of their lives, in their other classes, at home and in the neighborhood.
